1. ARE TICKETS REQUIRED? No, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. On-site registration will be available. There will be a sign-in desk upon arrival. Attendees will be asked to identify themselves by name and stake.
2. ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS TO ATTEND? Yes. Red Carpet Prom is an activity for Priest and Laurel age youth who are at least 16. You must be 16 years of age or older by April 12, 2019. If you have graduated early you may not be attending a singles ward or young single adults activities.
3. DO I HAVE TO BRING A DATE? Dates are encouraged but not required. This is an ideal opportunity to ask someone to go to Prom with you! Or just come as you are--there will be plenty to do, plenty of conversation, and plenty of snacks! Whatever your choice, Red Carpet Prom will be appropriate for singles, couples or groups in a safe, fun, wholesome environment.
4. CAN MY NON-MEMBER FRIENDS ATTEND? Yes, we encourage you to invite your non-member friends. Like you, they will be required to register, and agree to abide by the standards outlined for Red Carpet Prom. Be a great friend by explaining that Red Carpet Prom is about keeping all of the great things about Prom, while eliminating many of the less desirable elements, including immodest dress and inappropriate behavior. Make sure they read the standards carefully at redcarpetprom2019.info.
5. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Red Carpet Prom is free.
6. WHERE DO I PARK, AND IS THERE A FEE? The city owned parking garage is very close to the Prom venue--about a one minute walk to the Vancouver Hilton Convention Center. There is a nominal parking fee.
7. IS IT OKAY TO ARRIVE IN A LIMO? Absolutely! It’s still a Prom, so if a limo is part of your plan, go for it! However, another wonderful alternative is carpooling. This is a fun, interactive, inexpensive alternative.
8. WILL DINNER BE SERVED? No. However, there will be themed snacks and drinks during Prom. Part of the fun of Prom is in the planning, which may include going out to dinner before or after, but doing so is up to you. Be creative, have fun, and enjoy this special night!
9. WHAT ARE THE DRESS AND GROOMING STANDARDS? Red Carpet Prom requires participants to adhere to the dress and behavior guidelines for Latter- Day Saint dances. You can find specifics at redcarpetprom2019.info. These will be strictly enforced, so please read in advance!
10. WILL PROM PICTURES BE AVAILABLE? Yes. There will be a photographer dedicated to taking pictures of couples and/or groups (where possible). Couples will receive a link to a website where they can download their pictures for electronic storage or printing. Or, you may snap your own special pictures throughout with your own camera. Either way, you will want to capture the memories!
