"As you participate in and love this holy work, you will be safeguarded in your youth and throughout your lives.”—Elder David A. Bednar, “The Hearts of the Children Shall Turn”
We challenge all youth in the Gresham Stake to work together to index 1000 records before you go back to school.
What is indexing?
Check out the video below for a great explanation, but in short you will be looking at archived records and typing the information into the church family history site so that people can search the information when they are doing their family history.
What do I need to be able to index?
You will need a computer, tablet, or iPad and a church website account. If you do not already have a church account, you will need your membership record number. This number is on your temple recommend or you can ask your bishop to get it for you.
Sister Scott has set up some projects for us. Click on the link below. Log in to your church account then select a project and get started.
Once you login there are helpful resources to show you how to get started. You can even set and track goals for yourself. It will even walk you through a practice session.
We will be tracking our progress and posting updates on this page.
This is not a competition, but we will celebrate once we can all be together again in person. The Lord will bless you for your efforts in gathering Israel through indexing.
If you have an experience you wan to share as you are indexing please share with your family, friends, ward leaders, post on the Gresham lds youth facebook or instgram pages or email us at greshamldsyw@gmail.com. We want to hear about the wonderful experiences you are having. Sharing your experiences will inspire others.
We love you and are grateful for you. Happy Indexing!
With love,
Gresham Stake Young Men & Young Women Leaders
